I’m often asked how I get by six days or so in between hair washes. As my hair style progresses throughout the week, it gets pinned up more and more. So I start with my hair styled down, then half up – each for a couple days. From there, I’ll graduate to a pony and then a bun.

With everything we juggle in life, blowing out and styling our hair every day is no way near a possibility [at least for me!].  work full time in marketing, so I need to maintain my hair in a presentable, professional manner every day. Whether you work in an office and want a few new hair styles to try or you are a stay at home momma looking to make your hair last longer in between washes, today’s post is for you!

Below I’m sharing my three favorite hair styles for the office! But before I start with either option, I do this hair routine. I find that maintaining my curled hair is way easier than straight hair throughout the week. After a day or so, straight hair can get crinkles which requires more heat and more time. Curls are even more fun when they are messy which requires less work!

Also for any up dos these hair ties are a game changer! If there is one beauty item you buy from my blog EVER, I 110% suggest it’s these. They give your pony the most PERKY volume, hold your hair in place all day and never stretch out.

Okay let’s dig in..

3 SIMPLE HAIRSTYLES FOR THE OFFICE

1.SIGNATURE HALF UP

Non slip mid size hair clip: Shop

STEPS
1. After hair is curled, spray some additional texturizing spray to roots if needed for volume.

2. Part hair as preferred. I typically always do mine on the far left. I prefer this over pinning it straight back, but sometimes I do that too 🙂

3. To pin your hair back, start with your hair totally down and lay your thumbs right above your ears. Move them horizontally to the back of your head. Let the hair that will eventually go into the clip, fall by itself onto your thumbs. Make sure to use your hands with open fingers, not closed fingers, in order to have a piecey look.

4. Don’t clip yet! Slightly push up, bringing your hair pony to land just about two inches above where it just was. This will give you additional volume in the back.

5. Clip! I use these mid size clips because they are no slip. It’s so annoying when your hair falls flat from a back clip. They are only $4 too.

6. Add the finishing touches. Pull some hair around your face and the back for volume. I also will pull a little by my ears to cover the tops of them a tad.

Easy peasy!

I hate when my hair is in my face or fidgeting with my hair. I think it’s because when my dad did my hair growing up, it was always super long and he always had me pin it back out of my face sorta like this and now it’s just stuck.

This hairstyle is great because you get the look of your hair being down somewhat, but it’s professional and out of your face.

2.PIECEY PONY

Living Proof Body Builder: Shop

STEPS
1. With fingers open, gather hair into pony tail. I either like to do this high like pictured, or super low almost on my neck.

*Tip* If you pin up your hair with flat hands, your pony will be sleek. If you do it with open fingers, it’ll be piecey.

2.To add volume, pull small sections at a time to loosen hair on your hair line.

3. To add volume and thickness, lift the the hair of your ponytail and spray this while you drop your hair. It’s amazing for adding body!

You can go wrong with a volumized, piecey pony. I’do this with straight hair as well, but styling it with curls is definitely my favorite. They add to the piecy look.

3. EASY TWISTY BUN

SUPPLIES

4-6 bobby pins: Shop
Living Proof Body Builder: Shop

STEPS
1. With fingers open, gather hair into pony tail. I either like to do this high like pictured, or super low almost on my neck.

*Tip* If you pin up your hair with flat hands, your pony will be sleek. If you do it with open fingers, it’ll be piecey. We are going for piecey here.

2.To add volume, pull small sections at a time to loosen hair on your hair line. Do this before you make your bun. Once you have your bun, it’s harder to pull and loosen hair out.

3. Take the tail of your pony and twist it, letting it fall naturally into a ballerina-esque bun like above.

4.Secure the bun with a few bobby pins. The bobby pins give the perfect amount of security, while  and a spray of this body builder! This product is a hybrid between a texturizing spray and a hair spray, so it hods hair without being too strong.

*Tip* Avoid tying a hair tie around it because it’ll look too tight and wonky.

Probably my most worn office hairdo! This one is key just don’t feel like washing your hair or styling it to perfection, but need it to look professional.
