Riding Boots: 1 I 2 I 3 Heeled Booties: 1 I 2 I 3 Flat Booties: 1 I 2 I 3 OTK Boots: 1 I 2 I 3
Let’s talk boots shall we? Here in the Northeast boots are an essential. When it’s cold seven months of the year, you need your options! While there are many more than four types of boots I think woman need to own, these four cover the basics. [If you do live in a cold climate, Ugg, Hunter and Bean Boot’s should be added to this list!].
1. RIDING BOOTS: Classic. A sleek pair of black riding boots can dress up a pair of blue jeans and a knit, while a cognac pair with perfect for strolling through your weekend. I prefer riding boots that don’t have straps or buckles, so the options above are all clean, minimalist options. I grabbed this Sam Edelman pair in black last year and after seeing them on, a few girls at my office bought them too! They are a great middle point of finding a boot that will withstand the harsh winters while not breaking the bank. I grabbed this pair of Tory Burch riding boots recently because I’ve eyed them for year’s and was ready to treat myself and invest. While the cost may be a lot up front, they will last ten years so really they pair off if you treat them gently. Plus you can get this Tory Burch boot for 33% off today!
2. HEELED BOOTIES: Heeled booties are the perfect transitonal piece from work to weekend. A suede, heeled bootie is understated and classic. You can throw them on with black skinnies, distressed boyfriend jeans or over tights and a skirt for church! The heel elongated your leg and really dresses up an outfit so you can keep those feet warm while also looking chic. Ditch the heels that leave your feet exposed and grab a pair of these.
3. FLAT BOOTIES: Then on the other side of the spectrum, you don’t want a heel every day of the week! These suede booties have been a life saver this season. If you’re looking at booties without a heel, I suggest learning towards a pointed toe rather than a rounded toe so that your legs are elongated and don’t appear stumpy. Even with long legs like me I take that into consideration.
4. Over The Knee BOOTS: More specifically, black OTK boots. From dresses, to white skinnies or layering over leggings – these babies are so universal! I’ve been contemplating investing in these beauts, but I think I’m going to grab my wedding shoes first. Either way, there are so many dupes to get you by!
If you grab one of each above, you’re on the right start to building the base of your boot collection. Xoxo Mindy

Completely agree! I actually have 3 pairs of riding boots, 2 pairs of heeled booties, 1 pair of flat booties, and 1 pair of over-the-knee boots. And I could still totally see myself having another dozen pairs haha! I really like the lace-up wedged ones, if that makes any sense haha.
Love those OTK boot picks!
