Hi ladies! Since my life is packed up in boxes with moving, I wanted to share a few recent favorites from my office OOTDs.. specifically cardigans! These are all items I own that I set aside to keep in a duffle until we are settled into our new home. After moving in, I am heading to Denver for a work trip so on top of getting use of these items now, I also wanted to know right where they were to make packing and travel just a tad less stressful!
I wanted to focus on cardigans since I’ve been gravitating towards them for the office lately! The great things about cardigans is that you can wear them to work year round. The winter is always chilly here of course, but then in the summer the AC is blastin’ Layers is the key to staying comfortable!
With that said, I’m really picky with it comes to cardis. If you buy any old one, it can leave you looking much less than pulled together.
So my cardi checklist is:
NEUTRALS: You get so much more use out of having neutral, versatile colors like black, grey, blush and cream, rather than bright hues or prints. So to get more bang for your buck, opt for neutrals!
LESS IS BETTER: The perfect office cardi in my mind is simple like this one. It has:
-no pockets: draws attention to mid section or hips
-no buttons: look casual and can also bring clunkiness or business. If I do have buttons, they are small and match the cardigan color to camo in so it isn’t super busy.
– no long sleeves: so that you don’t need to shove up the sleeves which can make you look disheveled. I find that 3/4 length just looks more sleek and fine tuned. I will share one long sleeve cardigan below that I found and enjoy. I only wear it during winter though and make sure to wear form fitting slacks to balance the look out.
That’s just me! This also make it hard to find a P-E-R-F-E-C-T cardigan, but when you find it you LOVE it!
And while it’s rare, if I do find a great piece with pockets, the materials i usually thin so that the pockets aren’t chunky flabs hanging at my hips.
SILHOUETTE: Where cardis often go wrong are the silhouette. The wrong silhouette can draw attention to the wrong areas and can make you look bulky. Drapping cardigans can make you look bulky in your mid section and stretchy cardigans that cling to things can just be bad.
MATERIAL: Another important factor! A material that’s too stretchy, too thick or scratchy can make the cardigan accentuate or stick to the wrong areas along with be uncomfortable.
MY FAVORITE CARDIGANS FOR THE OFFICE
Love this post Mindy, because I wear a cardigan or jean jacket every single day to work! The AC is nuts in my radio station, haha!

Cardigans are a definite go-to for the office for me, they’re so helpful especially when you get cold!
That cardigan is so pretty! I really love the color! I’m always cold at work because of the AC (I’m so glad you mentioned that too) so cardigans and sweaters are a necessity!
I’ve seen the Leith cardigan everywhere and it looks SO elegant and comfortable at the same time! And, of course, I love the blush pink!
The navy with fringe detailing is my favorite!
