So last weekend I received an order from one of my favorite retailers that consisted of wide leg denim, mom jeans and denim overalls. Lol. While each were a little ‘out there’, S said each were cute when I put them on.
For the overalls though, he wondered how something so out of style could come back. Although, I’m not sure overalls were ever out of style for farmers and middle schoolers, maybe they have been for girls in their 20’s lol.
That made an idea pop in my mind! I wanted to show a few ways to style denim overalls for you in case you’ve been on the fence! Honestly, I’m going to live in them all summer long because they are so versatile and freaking CUTE!
Before we hop into the three looks, I want to share why this denim overall is the only one you need in your life.
I’ve tried 10 pairs over the last year and returned each immediately. Why? Well every pair was skin tight and I’ve say booty shorts are a no in my book especially for overalls. 😆 They should be comfy!
This pair is amazing because the bottom half is a relaxed boyfriend fit! They are the perfect mix of loose, but not overly baggy! I grabbed my normal size and they fit great.
The suspender straps are of course expandable. Mine are as tight as they go so if you’re a similar chest to mine or larger, it’ll work for you due to the customization.
Also, love love love the wash! I always lean towards darker denim, but for overalls the light wash seems so fresh and summer-like.

3 Ways to Style Overalls for the Weekend
1.CHIC MONOCHROMATIC
The first way I gravitated towards styling these overalls was with my favorite color -PINK!
Now your favorite color may not be pink, but I bet whatever yours is, you have a lot of piece sin your closet in that color. That to say, I suggest making a monochromatic look with your overalls!
Find pieces in your closet in your favorite color, but in varying shades! For example, my knit tee is a very pale bush, slides are dark bush and my hair tie is a mix of all shades of blush.
All these pieces live in the same color family, making the outfit look polished!

Now let’s talk PRINTS!
The best way to add a pop of personality to an outfit? I always lean towards prints. From classic navy stripes, feminine florals or, my personal favorite, feisty leopard… you just can’t go wrong!
For this look, I let the leopard print steal the show by allowing other outfit aspects to be neutral and calm.
For example, the black band on my hat paired perfectly because it bounces off the the leopard print’s main color. If you’re wearing a navy stripe tee, grab your navy baseball hat.
You can also ditch a hat and do with with your shoes instead to build a cohesive look!
My leopard tee is marked down today! I grabbed my normal size and it’s the perfect thick, faltering material that doesn’t stick to any place you don’t want it to. Here it is with denim shorts and I’ve even worn it with leggings.

3.FEMININE TOUCH
Overalls can naturally be a bit masculine, so to balance that layer on some feminine pieces! I grabbed a blush baseball cap, ruffled sleeve tee and clean white kicks.
What’s funny is that while the little details and color palette make this a ‘girly-girl’ look, it’s actually kinda sporty and practical! I’ll definitely be wearing this to a baseball game this summer.
