I’m all about versatility. When I see a dress that can dressed up AND down, I snag it up reaaalll fast! This brand has so many cute fall dress options and they are really great quality, especially for $62. Long sleeves dresses are great because you can wear them to work all year round, out to a date night in the fall with a faux fur vest and then dressed down for the weekend while running errands.
Creating a closet full of neutral, versatile pieces lets you get more use out of each piece. Then, you can use items like statement necklaces and footwear to add a pop of personality! This transforms an otherwise plain black dress into looking different every time you wear it. The most bang for your buck. I feel like I say neutrals, neutrals, neutrals so often, but I really didn’t understand how to build out my wardrobe with versatile pieces until after college and wish I had realized this before!
So as far as both looks:
Date Night Look:
It’s been in the 50’s here in Boston, so a faux fur vest is a great layer to add a little more warmth. I love this all-black vest from last year, but this one and this one are great options too! I threw on these essentials flats, but a pair of suede pumps would look chic too!
Our weekends lately have been jam packed! We go from church to wedding planning, to spending an evening with friends on complete opposite sides of town. With that, comfort is key! I love keeping these sneaks in my car for a quick switch. Church may require flats or heels, but you better believe I’m going for 100% comfort when heading to brunch. If you’re looking to grab a pair of these throw back Adidas kicks, go down one whole size. They run huge!
In addition to comfy sneakers, I paired this dress with a classic Tory Tote and simple nude lip [check out the best nude lipsticks here!]. While on the run a tote that can fit my Macbook for weekend meetings and everything else I need is a must. I really love the York Buckle Tote and use it for work and of course while running around on Sunday’s. The bark hue is perfect for fall too!
I’ve also been slipping this planner into my tote too. It’s been SUCH a life saver. I have tried using Google Calendar and other phone tools to organize myself, but every time I try a new app – I run back to my planner. This is the 2017 version because I wanted to get a head start building out my editorial calendar for next year and slip in all our wedding planning! I’d love to know any apps that help you stay organized of whether you’re a traditional planner like me!
I hope this post helped you think of that LBD in a couple different ways. I’ve linked up all my outfit details below, along with other similar pieces! Xoxo Mindy
