Recently I wrote a blog post covering skin care adjustments needed for fall in order to prep for cold weather. This covered all aspects of protecting your face, but what about the rest of your skin? Over the last month, I’ve been testing an array of Palmer’s Coconut Oil Firming products that not only firm your skin (!!), but also leave your skin hydrated and healthy. Oh and you smell amazing all day. Since incorporating these products into my daily routine, I’ve seriously been stopped and asked what I’m wearing that smells so good. With that, today I’m so exited to partner with Palmer’s and share four tips for healthy, moisturized, glowing winter skin.
ONE // USE PRODUCTS THAT HYDRATE NATURALLY
If you’ve followed along for awhile, you know that I love coconut oil. While I always throw it in my smoothies and top it on my Ezekiel bread, I also love using it in my beauty regimen. I use coconut oil as a hair mask, make up remover and will even apply it like a lotion to my body. That’s why when I had the opportunity to test the Palmer’s Coconut Oil Firming line, I hoped on it! Palmer’s uses Certified Organic Fair Trade Extra Virgin Coconut Oil in all their products that give your skin 24 hour moisture. 24 hours!
Ever since trying the Coconut Oil Body Cream, I haven’t used another lotion post-shower to hydrate my skin. I’ve also been carrying around their Coconut Oil Hand Cream in my purse. It contains rich, skin-conditioning coconut oil and coconut milk and hydration-boosting coconut water that envelops hands in a glove-like barrier to lock in moisture, repair cracks and soften overall texture.Whether traveling for work or running errands, I’m always reaching for it. Keeping your hands moisturized allow healthy cuticles which ultimately make your manicure last longer too. My other favorite product from this line are the Firming Sheet Masks that are so good, they have their own section later in today’s post. Keeping your hands, legs, arms and total body hydrated with great products is the key to healthy winter skin!
TWO // DITCH UNNATURAL SCENTS AND HARSH CHEMICALS
The easiest way to irritate our skin is by using harsh chemicals and heavy scented products. My skin is very sensitive and will become painfully dry and irritated if I use heavy, unnatural scented body washes and lotions. Our skin is our largest organ, so feeding it with hydration through products that are hypoallergenic, like Palmer’s, and free of harsh chemicals is vital.
THREE // EXFOLIATE
Once a week I’ll use a body brush like the heart shaped one in today’s post or this $10 option from Anthro. While in the shower, I’ll run warm water on my body and rub the brush around my body. The process of running a firm, natural bristled brush over the skin helps loosen and remove dead skin cells. This also increases skin circulation and displays fresh, vibrant skin cells. Just make sure to apply lotion or body cream after to make sure you stay moisturized!
FOUR // DOUBLE TIME WITH FIRMING
Come the cold months, we reach a bit more for the sweets and may hit snooze a couple times extra on our alarm clocks. While getting physical activity is still important, Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Anti-Oxidant Firming Lotion and Firming Sheet Masks both can help a girl out by firming up areas like arms, thighs, hips and stomach. The lotion uses a mix of plant-based seaweed, potent botanicals and coconut oil to help ease fluid retention, encourage circulation and give skin a smoother, more toned and healthier-looking appearance. The masks are AMAZING because they contour with your body to work with your curves. They are full of Guarana Extract, Capuaca and Coconut Oil which combined helps improve microcirculation, resulting in a firmer, toned and smoother appearance. 98% of women, along with myself, have seen firmer more tightened skin!
