Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope your week is off to a great start. S and I have some sort of stomach bug which hasn’t been all that great, but hopefully we are almost in the clear! I saw that Trader Joe’s salads got recalled, but the one we ate around the time we started getting sick wasn’t on there so who knows! Their recall was mostly on meat based salads as an FYI in case you shop there. Ours was just a normal green mix, but I guess it could have been something else we both ate.
Anyways, today I wanted to share this cute little weekend outfit that’s been on repeat all summer. I’ve shared these shorts a couple times here and here. They are finally back in stock in this cute olive-y hue, so it’s the perfect time to share!
When it comes to clothes, accessories, make up, shoes.. I’d rather have less and have them be better quality. With that, the pieces I do add to my closet and share on my blog are pieces I really love. When I think through this outfit, I have a list of reasons why I’d recommend each piece, so let’s dig in!
1.BASIC PEPULM KNIT: SHOP NOW
I’ve seen this knit over the years are Nordstrom and always thought it was cute. I actually ordered it back in March and returned it because your normal size runs very large. It was huge! It wasn’t until recently when I placed my order for one size down.
I regret not exchanging sooner because I have lived in this top all summer! I’m not much of a jeans and t shirt girl because I need a little more to my outfit, so the pretty ruffle peplum detailing does just that. It adds the perfect pop of femininity and personality to an otherwise basic tee.
The price tag is $40 which may sound like a lot for a t shirt, BUT I’d personally rather have one really nice, versatile tee that doesn’t stretch out, isn’t see through, is the perfect fit and doesn’t wear down through washing than four cheaper ones that are “off” in one or more of the ways listed.
The color selection is great – white, black, grey, navy and this stripe print I’m wearing today. I may or may not have grabbed it in white and grey too hehe.
2. CHINO SHORTS: SHOP NOW
I’ve chatted about this pair of shorts all summer on the blog, but today they are restocked in all sizes.. and 50% off! You just can’t beat the perfect fitting shorts that come in ten+ colors for $20!
I own them in this cute jade color and coral styled HERE. Both colors surprisingly pair with a vast amount of blouses in my closet and I bet it will be the same for you! There are lots of neutrals available as well like tan, grey and white.
Okay another reason I love ’em? You can dress them down with a basic tee like I did today or dress them up with a blouse for a day when denim shorts are just too casual.
They fit true to size. The mid rise is perfect and the length is really great. And remember – $20 today!
3. GOLD HOOPS: SHOP NOW
If you’ve been a long time blog reader, you’ve heard me talk about these dainty gold earrings many times. They are honestly shared within 90% of my outfit looks!
While I love a good statement earring, the older I get the more drawn I am to simple gold pieces. I like being able to just grab my jewelry and run out the door.. AKA no thinking! These gold earrings do just that. They are super versatile and pair with my silver watches, gold necklaces or look great on their own.
The brand that makes them is my go to for jewelry because their pieces are timeless, such amazing quality and don’t break the bank.
4. STRAW HAT: SHOP NOW
Alright – I have a very small collection of hats. They always get returned immediately because ‘one size fits all’ doesn’t usually work for me. My hair is really, really thick so I ill squeeze it on and get a headache. Not worth it. So when I say this one is amazing, trust me!
Also – on the topic of hats, I got a lot of questions on this one. My bestie Hannah actually made them for us [her bridesmaids]! She’s so talented. And guess what – it fits perfectly!! Hehe.
