Hi ladies! As you probably saw on Instagram, last week and weekend I was at my bestie Hannah’s bachelorette party in Charleston, South Carolina!! OMG it was such a blast. She is such a beautiful ray of sunshine and spending those five days with her were so special. I didn’t want to leave her or the sweet group of girls. The week flew by! We went to her bridal dress fitting, toured the venue [so stunning], went out downtown, did a bar crawl, had an epic dinner on the beach and had a beach day. Her bridesmaids are such sweet girls and the whole trip was just so much fun!

I have been to South Carolina last October with my dad for my sister’s Marine graduation. We were at Parris Island near Hilton Head and only were in Charleston for the airport, so for this trip I was excited to see downtown Charleston and lounge at the beach. We spent time in Daniel Island [so pretty!] and most our time at Isle of Palms in the beach house we stayed in.

I had a lot of fun grabbing clothes and beauty products for this trip, so I thought it’d be fun to share!

MY PACKING LIST FOR CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

TRAVEL JUMPSUIT // This black jumpsuit is so soft, super comfy and was the perfect little piece to wear while on my two hour flight. I suggest going up one size as it runs small.

STRAW CROSSBODY // I’m so shocked for the quality of this purse at the price point. I’m not one for itty bitty wallet crossbodies since I am always the “mom” of my group and carry everything for every life situation on me at all times HAHA, so this one is the perfect mid size crossbody. The lining detail is such a unique, feminine touch. L-O-V-E.

CREAM MAKE UP // When summer rolls around, I switch my beauty routine to incorporate less powder products and more cream products. This was 100% essential for my Charleston trip! I’m a New England girl, who I quickly realized, has ZERO experience with humidity. I thought our New England August weather was unbearable which is lol worthy. I do not know how you Southern girls do it! HOLY COW!

With that said, powder products are for the colder months, while cream withstands the humidity and hot summer heat. Cream blushes, bronzers, eyeshadows and highlighters are ideal for summertime because they match the natural glow you have from summer and are much more light weight. Powdered make up just doesn’t withstand humidity. I was so happy that I grabbed this gorgeous blush [technically a liquid, but same concept here] and this bronzer/highlighter combo stick before heading to Charleston.

CC CREAM // This product is my every day CC cream, but for special events I’ll go for more coverage with this amazing foundation. With the Charleston humidity, I’m so glad I made sure to bring this. I’ve never felt humidity like this before. It was 20X anything we have in New England so with that, I opted for my every day IT Cosmetics CC Cream each day and night since it is super light, gives the best coverage for any CC or BB cream on the market and BONUS – it has SPF 50! I cannot imagine wearing heavy foundation in that heat.

PS – use this brush to apply. I have a blog post HERE that breaks down common foundation mistakes.

STRIPE MIDI DRESS // While this QT dress didn’t make it in my bag because I need to exchange it for a smaller size, I most definitely would have lived in it during the trip! The blue and white combination of colors are summer-esque and the fit is universally flattering for all body types. Go down one size unless you’re chesty.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS // For two of the nights we went out, we wanted to coordinate in little black dresses and have our GORGEOUS bride to be stand out in white! I packed this cute floral number. While I ended up opting for a black romper, this little number is perfect or any of you girls that have bachelorette parties coming up. It runs true to size, but is short. I find everything by this designer to be on the shorter side. I am 5’6″ and would say it’d be a top on anyone taller than me, lol.

NEUTRAL HEELS // While I live in my Millers [best sandals EVER], these are my favorite ‘going out sandal’ because the nude ankle strap elongate your legs and gives the illusion of a 4″ heel from the front. They are so comfortable and can make it through bars in downtown. I’ve chatted about them for over two years on the blog so you can find a lot of styles from office looks to my own bachelorette party. They also are super versatile and go with everything so you can just pack this one heel and wear them all weekend!

Also – I’m so thankful I packed these as a bra was a total NO GO the whole time due to the heat haha.

We are returning to Charleston in October, so leave your must-visit places below! Xo Mindy

Loved following along on INstagram! I’ve only been to Charleston once but it was for a conference, so I didn’t get to explore much. Sounds like y’all had fun and this is a great packing list!
